About the Artist
Once a Brooklyn Artist, producing minimalist paintings and writing from a secular/humanist's perspective, Pat Wilson relocated to his studio in the village of Northport, Michigan in 2019 where he continues his earlier calling of composing music.
Wilson's musical career began with the Grace Cathedral boys' choir in Topeka, Kansas singing on national TV for JFK's funeral. Those choral works have been a central influence in his philosophical approach to music over his lifetime where he has composed and performed for an array of musical groups, choruses and solo performances . Along a path of invention, Wilson's compositions are influenced by the Italian Renaissance, Baroque, Celtic and other folk styles. Though not inspired to play or learn composition through the classical tradition, Wilson gives credit to composers of those eras in his approach to creating his music.
With an interest in both classical and modern philosophy, along with poets such as Yeats, Rumi and Rilke, Pat Wilson's music might best be described as both a calming and reflective experience. His sincerity and search for Truth can be heard throughout his pieces, leaving the listener pleasantly surprised to think that, just for a moment, this storyteller has given you a glimpse into life's answers.
